DogShit Investing provides a structure and private platform for independent, self-directed chapters. It does not provide investment advice, recommend or rank investments, manage money, execute trades, or make decisions for a chapter or any member.
Every member decides for themselves whether an investment is legal, accessible, suitable, and worth purchasing in their own account. Investing can result in the loss of some or all of the money invested.
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the DogShit Investing public website, chapter platform, content, communications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). In these Terms, "DogShit Investing," "we," "us," and "our" refer to DogShit Investing. "Chapter" means an independent group of members using the Service.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least the age of majority where you live and able to enter a binding agreement. You must provide accurate account information, keep it current, protect your sign-in credentials, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access.
Your account is personal to you. You may not share it, transfer it, use another person's account, or attempt to enter a chapter or administrative area you are not authorized to access.
3. What DogShit Investing Provides
The Service gives chapters a shared process and place to:
- organize members, meetings, and recurring rounds;
- receive member-created investment cases;
- present those cases to the chapter for discussion;
- record member voting or ranking under the chapter's rules;
- record the selection members report after making their decision; and
- preserve the chapter's history and learning over time.
The Service supplies structure, not judgment. A case appearing on the platform means only that a member submitted it under the chapter process.
4. Independent, Self-Directed Chapters
Each chapter operates independently. Chapter members create the investment options, discuss them, apply their own rules, and make their own selection. DogShit Investing does not participate in that process and has no authority to make, approve, reject, change, or veto a chapter selection.
The Service does not include a mechanism through which DogShit Investing recommends, promotes, screens for quality, ranks, or otherwise helps choose an investment. Any ordering, formatting, market information, or calculation displayed by the Service is administrative or informational and is not a recommendation or expression of preference.
A chapter selection belongs to the members who made it. DogShit Investing may learn and record what the chapter selected only after members report the outcome. Recording a selection does not mean that DogShit Investing reviewed, approved, endorsed, or verified it.
5. No Investment Advice or Recommendation
DogShit Investing is not an investment adviser, dealer, broker, portfolio manager, exchange, custodian, financial planner, tax adviser, or legal adviser. The Service does not provide personal, tailored, or general recommendations to buy, sell, hold, or avoid any security, cryptocurrency, fund, asset, or investment strategy.
Member cases, chapter discussion, votes, selections, historical results, prices, charts, links, and other material available through the Service are member-created or informational. They are not advice from DogShit Investing and should not be treated as a promise, forecast, endorsement, suitability determination, or substitute for independent professional advice.
Keep your qualified financial adviser. Obtain independent financial, legal, tax, and other professional advice appropriate to your circumstances before acting.
6. No Pooled Money, Custody, or Trading
DogShit Investing does not:
- accept, pool, hold, transfer, or invest money for members or chapters;
- open or control brokerage, exchange, wallet, or bank accounts;
- hold securities, cryptocurrency, private keys, or other assets;
- receive trading authority, place orders, or execute transactions;
- verify that a member purchased, owns, sold, or profited from an asset; or
- share in a member's gains or losses.
Members who choose to invest do so separately, in their own accounts, using a provider of their own choosing. A member may decide not to purchase a chapter selection where it is unavailable, unlawful, unsuitable, unaffordable, or inconsistent with their own judgment or professional advice.
7. Investment Risk and Member Responsibility
All investing involves risk. Investments discussed by chapters may be speculative, illiquid, volatile, difficult to value, unavailable in some jurisdictions, subject to fraud or regulatory change, or capable of losing all value. A small stake limits the dollars exposed but does not make an investment safe.
You alone are responsible for:
- your investment, account, tax, and legal decisions;
- investigating an asset and the person or company offering it;
- confirming that a transaction is lawful and available where you live;
- deciding whether an investment is suitable for your circumstances;
- all fees, taxes, losses, gains, and consequences of your actions; and
- the accuracy of any purchase or outcome you report to the chapter.
Past results, whether positive or negative, do not predict future results. No outcome is promised.
8. Member Submissions and Non-Attribution
Investment cases are created by members, not DogShit Investing. The Service is intended to present cases to members without attributing them to their author at any stage, including in the chapter's historical record. Members must not use the Service to expose, investigate, or guess another member's submission authorship.
Non-attribution within the Service is not a guarantee that authorship can never be inferred. A submission may contain distinctive facts or writing, or a member may identify themselves outside the platform. DogShit Investing may resolve authorship only through a narrowly controlled conduct process for a credible serious or repeated violation requiring account-level action, with approval from two distinct authorized Conduct Administrators, or where disclosure is required by law. The identity is never disclosed to the chapter through that process.
A member submission expresses that member's own research, opinion, and judgment. It is not a statement, recommendation, or endorsement by DogShit Investing. We do not undertake to monitor, investigate, verify, or approve every submission, but members may report content that they believe violates these Terms or another person's rights.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give DogShit Investing a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, format, display, process, and preserve that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and administer the Service and the chapter record. You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that its use under these Terms will not violate another person's rights.
9. Confidentiality and Chapter Privacy
Private chapter content is for authorized members of that chapter unless the content owner and any affected people agree otherwise. You must not publish, forward, scrape, sell, or disclose another member's case, vote, personal information, private discussion, purchase report, or chapter record without authorization.
Network administration is limited to operating the Service, supporting chapter health, managing access, and addressing conduct, safety, privacy, compliance, and support issues. Network authority does not include directing investment activity or routine access to live cases, live selections, private discussion, or individual voting behaviour.
10. Member Conduct
You must use the Service lawfully and in good faith. You must not:
- submit information you know is false, deceptive, defamatory, unlawful, or materially misleading;
- use confidential or material non-public information, or encourage unlawful insider trading;
- manipulate a market, coordinate deceptive trading, promote a pump-and-dump scheme, or use the chapter to create artificial demand;
- hide compensation, ownership, referral payments, or another material conflict connected with a submitted investment;
- pressure another member to invest more than the chapter's deliberately small stake or to ignore their own judgment;
- impersonate another person, invade privacy, harass members, or compromise chapter confidentiality;
- use chapter membership, contact information, or private content for unsolicited marketing, referrals, promotions, or commercial solicitation;
- introduce malware, disrupt the Service, bypass access controls, scrape private content, or attempt unauthorized access; or
- use DogShit Investing's name, platform, or chapter network to provide investment advice or solicit money from others.
We may remove content, restrict access, suspend an account, or close a chapter where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, members, or the integrity of the network. We do not undertake to pre-screen or verify every submission.
11. Market Data and Third-Party Services
Prices, charts, company details, asset descriptions, links, and other third-party information may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. They are provided for context only and must not be relied on for trading, valuation, tax reporting, or time-sensitive decisions.
Brokerages, cryptocurrency platforms, exchanges, data providers, and linked websites are independent third parties. DogShit Investing does not operate, endorse, or control them and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, terms, fees, transactions, or conduct.
12. Intellectual Property
Except for member content and third-party material, the Service, its design, software, text, graphics, logos, methods, and other content are owned by or licensed to DogShit Investing and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own lawful participation in an authorized chapter. No other right is granted.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy. Chapter members are also responsible for protecting personal information they receive through their chapter.
14. Fees and Payment Information
The current private group uses the Service without a chapter fee. DogShit Investing does not currently collect credit card or banking information.
If paid chapter services are introduced later, the price, billing party, payment process, cancellation terms, refund rules, taxes, and any additional terms will be disclosed before a charge is made. Introduction of a service fee will not give DogShit Investing any role in investment selection, advice, custody, or trading.
15. Availability and Changes
The Service is being developed and may change. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, impose reasonable limits, or correct errors. We do not guarantee continuous, secure, or error-free access, or that chapter content will always be available.
You may stop using the Service and ask us to close your account. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a breach of these Terms, a risk to members or the Service, legal requirements, prolonged inactivity, chapter closure, or discontinuation of the Service. Sections that by their nature should continue, including ownership, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law, and limits on use of retained chapter records, survive account closure or termination.
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without representations, warranties, conditions, or guarantees of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. This includes warranties or conditions of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, security, and that the Service will meet your requirements.
DogShit Investing does not guarantee any investment, chapter, member submission, market data, third-party service, or financial result.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DogShit Investing and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, opportunity, data, goodwill, or investment value, arising from or connected with the Service, a chapter, a member submission, an investment decision, a transaction, or a third-party service.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising from or connected with the Service will not exceed the greater of CAD $100 and the amount you paid directly to DogShit Investing for the Service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some laws do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of this section may not apply to you.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold harmless DogShit Investing and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, your breach of these Terms, content you submit, or your violation of another person's rights.
19. Relationship of the Parties
Your use of the Service does not create a partnership, joint venture, fiduciary, advisory, brokerage, agency, employment, or trustee relationship between you and DogShit Investing. DogShit Investing does not become a member of your chapter and cannot bind a chapter or any member. A chapter and its members cannot bind DogShit Investing.
A chapter organizer or chapter administrator manages that chapter's membership and process on the chapter's behalf. They are not an employee, agent, adviser, broker, or representative of DogShit Investing and have no authority to provide investment advice in our name or bind us to any obligation.
20. Governing Law
These Terms and your use of the Service are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer law, disputes will be brought before the courts of British Columbia.
21. General
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, sale, or transfer of the Service. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and DogShit Investing about the Service unless additional written terms expressly apply.
